Banana Bread Oatmeal is the perfect start to your day

Oatmeal is a breakfast staple. There is no question of that. It’s healthy, quick, and delicious. The best part is that there are so many ways to dress it up. You never have to eat oatmeal the same way twice, unless you really want to. Today, we’re starting our day off with this Banana Bread Oatmeal. 

Banana Bread Oatmeal

Ingredients
  1. 1 1/4 cup milk (soy or almond can be substituted)
  2. 1/2 cup (about 1 1/2) overripe bananas, mashed (you can slice the leftover 1/2 banana and use for garnish)
  3. 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  4. 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  5. 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  6. 1 cup quick oats
  7. 2 teaspoons brown sugar
Instructions
  1. In a large saucepan, whisk together the milk, mashed bananas, and spices.
  2. Heat the mixture on medium heat.
  3. When it starts to boil, add the rolled oats and cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, or until the oats are soft and the liquid has been absorbed.
  4. Pour into a bowl, top each serving with a teaspoon of brown sugar, slices of banana, and enjoy!
